Your brain on coffee vs. your brain on beer. (Here’s the full infographic)
If alcoholism wasn’t something that was already in my family (not my parents, but some of the people on my dad’s side are alcoholics, but a lot of them have it under control now! I can’t stress how proud I am of my uncle who has been sober for 30 years now! Woohoo!) and if I wasn’t concerned that casual drinking all day would be a bad thing for me, yeah, I think I tend to work best when buzzed… at least as far as writing and drawing and talking goes. I would probably give myself in to it.
I actually do have issues with social anxiety in real life, and it can sometimes carry over into an OCD regarding certain things. It’s sad, but alcohol makes me more confident in my own work, even things I should already be proud of. >.<
Blech, what a lousy confession. I don’t actually drink a lot. I’m more than willing to drink socially, but if I’m alone I’d have, at most, a glass of wine a week, and I won’t go out of my way for it.
